In Retrospect

I’m lying on my bed. I am six. There is a window on the right, which opens to the most beautiful sight one could possibly set their eyes on. Every morning as I wake up, I pull back the curtains, to see the view through my window, for the day. I see the prettiest blue sky, the fluffiest white clouds, all lit up brightly in the splendour and glory of the sun’s light. I do not wish to get off of my bed. I do not wish to set my eyes on anything but this. I wish to gaze into the endless blue, all throughout . I hear mummy calling me impatiently, for the bus would arrive in 10 minutes. I must get going, for school beckons. Okay. See you tomorrow. Bye.

*Gah, I miss those carefree days; of youth and childlike awe!

Being Earnest.

Tri…tric…trickling down were the tears of something incomprehensible. Something he couldn’t get a head of. Though ubiquitous, their ‘love’, thrived on; ubiquity of certainty and the real love in all it’s sincere grandeur, was lost in the traffic.

Matt, couldn’t help but feel tears on his face. Or were they, tears? He couldn’t help or understand if it was his.

Realization hit home. Toto, the dog, was quite the drooler! 😉

Battle Stories; Circa 1940s

Longing was she, to touch his countenance,

Countenance, that had grown from a joyous to a mundane one, with eyes the more haunted,

Haunted, for it waited on uncertainty,

Uncertainty, for he wished to stay paused with her, there; and for better, peaceful days.

Days, that were longer and merrier, full of gushing hope.

Hope, was what she now dearly clung onto.

Onto, she tightly gripped the green wild combat suit.

Suit, is what he looked best in.

In, their hearts, they hoped frantically that this would all soon end, so they could chirp their hearts out.

Out, they now stood, that cold December day; while the building next to them, went up in fickle smoke.

Smoke, suffocated the wits out of her, as she startlingly awoke from her dream.

The dream brought back that lingering fear, and now all she could do, whilst sniffles; longing to touch his countenance.

Because…

My college re-opened after a surprisingly long summer break. Being in the final year, the studies are overbearing; (over-my-head-kind-of-bearing).  Literary theories, criticisms, linguistics, umpteen number of prose & poems to be critically analyzed et al are the stuff I’m / I’ll be surrounded with for the months to follow. Did I mention the presentations & papers to be submitted. And if, just if, I get time, I get to squeeze in a little bit for blogging! 😦

But, there are days too, when I get bored of Dr. Jonson’s criticisms or are too brain dead to critically analyze Gerontion; on such days or rather (hopefully) more regularly, I shall, without failing, POST! I will, I promise! 😀

The Red Nose

The clown’s job by day was to make people laugh, so that they always had a good time.

The clown by night, was a most lonely man who’d lament and cry his heart out; for he greatly wished to be one of those people who’d laugh their hearts out at his buffoonery!

But he knew, this too, was not meant to be.

Deafening, silence!

While the song lasts for the time it is meant to, his sorrows seemed to be a little less intimidating.

When it ends, back to square one.

He doesn’t like the silence that comes after the end of a good song, because it is a cue for him to go to the dry cleaners, like she had asked him to. And pay the bills. And buy groceries. Phew!

Some people can be so overtly imposing,

and some like him, too meek to revolt;

he wondered, as he drove home from the bar.

A pint at times can drown all the sorrows; coupled with a good song.

We were the world.

We were for one.

3. What is your favourite genre in books and films/movies, and why?– Gothic,Comedy & Thriller; all of which are atypical to one’s usual life surroundings! :p

5. Are you a city-loving person, or do you prefer the quietness of country life? Give your reasons? — Quietness of country life. But with a good Internet Connection 😀
6. Is there any particular time of year where you live that you like the best, and why?– Any time is great when it’s not hot & humid!
